Town house, now hotel. Mid C18, with early C19 alterations;
further alterations and additions in C20. Whitened roughcast
with slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 4-bay street front with giant
pilasters to outer angles. Second bay has C20 8-panel door in
doorcase with panelled reveals beneath moulded flat hood on
moulded cantilever brackets. C20 glazing bar sash windows
throughout. Street front windows are recessed sashes, of 6/6
on ground floor, 6/9 on first floor and squat with 3/3 to
attic. On ground floor, windows have louvred shutters; on
ground and first floors painted stone sills and shaped
lintels; to attic, flat painted stone sills and lintels.
Moulded string to attic storey, and moulded eaves cornice
below plain coped parapet.
Left return: single-storey added porch has a 6-panel door with
rectangular overlight surmounted by a pediment with dentil
ornamentation recessed within a semicircular headed reveal.
INTERIOR: staircase with curtail step, cut and bracketed
string, turned newels and wreathed handrail. 6-panel doors to
ground and upper floors.
