GV II

Villa, now two houses. c1863. White Pease brick with ashlar
dressings; Welsh slate roof with grey tile ridges. Free Gothic
style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics; 4-bay range. 4-panel door and
shaped overlight in 2-centred brick arch in square turret set
back at left. Second and fourth bays project, the second with
ground--floor bay window of ashlar with angle pilasters and
moulded 2-centred arches under moulded parapet; one window in
returns. Third bay set back with extruded porch at right in
angle with projecting bay.
Ground floor has single sashes in canted corners, paired
sashes to front, with shaped heads in ashlar lintels. First
floor has sashes, paired in projecting bays, with flat stone
lintels and projecting stone sills. Turret has shaped head to
second-floor sash under corbelled eaves gutter cornice.
Projecting bays have sashes with flat stone lintels and
projecting stone sills; attic windows in gable peaks have
similar treatment, that in second bay with renewed glazing.
Steeply pitched roofs, the turret pyramidal with swept eaves,
that over second bay with half hip, over fourth bay hipped
with gable over attic. Roof has roll-moulded grey ridge tiles
with mace finials. Tall corniced ridge chimneys.
