Monument. c1903. By White Bros. of Landport. Granite. 4 sided
obelisk on base set on sandstone slab. Erected by the Officers
and men "In memory of those killed in a gun accident on board
H.M.S. Sovereign off Platea, November 9th 1901, whilst
discharging their duty"... also to the memory of those who
died during The Commission". Inscriptions list those who were
killed and those who died during the commission 1899-1902.
