Pair of villas in planned group. Early C19 by John Foulston.
incised stucco with stucco detail; dry slate hipped roof with
projecting eaves and triangular pediment over the central 2
bays; rendered end stacks. Double-depth plan plus rear service
wings at left and right and entrance porches set back at left
and right.
2 storeys; symmetrical 1:2:1-bay front with plinth and
1st-floor sill band. Original hornless sashes with glazing
bars under moulded hoods on consoles, those to No.4 with
pilasters. Enclosed porches with heavy cornices to return
elevations; original panelled doors.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
Part of a good group of villas by Foulston, set within their
original landscape and thus remarkable in a national context.
