Farmhouse. C1800, with alterations c1870 and late C20. Deeds are said to date the construction to 1795. Red brick, with stucco finish to main frontages, renewed C20. Hipped Swithland slate roofs with central lead flat and brick stacks. 2 storeys, 3 x 2 bays. Square plan with service wing to east and further rear wing to SW. Symmetrical front with central stone Doric portico covering half-glazed margin stile door and overlight. 6/6 sash above. Projecting side bays, each with 6/6 sashes, the left ground floor window reglazed in UPVC. Right return has 2 similar sashes above. Left return has a UPVC window, and a lean-to projection covering the cellar steps. Hipped rear wing has a blank wall to east. Rear elevation has mainly late C20 glazing, and a small early C19 casement to attics. Eastern rear wing has a 2 storey canted bay window and doorway, c1870, with late C19 and late C20 glazing. South west rear wing, in separate ownership, has Welsh slate roof and unglazed late C20 windows. INTERIOR: Original staircase and landing, with double stick balusters and ramped scrolled hardwood handrail . Main ground floor rooms have cornices, and one mid C19 marble fireplace. Rear service rooms have exposed joists and slate slab floors. Thrawl remains in situ. Cellars have segmental brick vaults and wine bins. Most rooms have beaded 6-panel doors.
