House. Mid C18 with C19 sashes. Pale red brick with plinth, rear wall and part
of right gable end built in granite rubble. Boxed wooden eaves, Swithland slate
roof, brick gable copings, brick chimneys to left and between right bays. 2
storeys and attic, 4 irregularly spaced bays. Raised first floor band course.
C19 sashes, probably in original openings, those to ground floor with cambered
heads. Central C20 gabled dormer with paired wooden casement. Two steps to
central six-panelled door set into altered opening. Door has plain wooden
surround and small hood on shaped brackets with paterae. Attic casements in
gables. Single-storey range of outbuildings attached to rear is of brick with
C20 corrugated iron roof. Part formerly used as workshop for framework knitters,
with 2 5-light windows and one 3-light window in north east wall. Now used as
garage. Interior of house has central staircase with boarded partition walls,
and stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
