Warehouse. c1813, roof reconstructed between 1830 and 1850.
Brick in Flemish Bond, parapeted roof with gable facing.
4 storeys over basement. 5-window range to gable-facing
elevation, unglazed granary windows with original wooden
shutters. All windows segmental-arched, except for round
window in gable. Another round window to basement entrance at
right party wall. To centre left is a hoist bay.
INTERIOR: timber construction with stanchions on a 4m grid.
The roof, of 11m clear span, has wrought-iron hanger rods in
place of queen posts, suspended from cast-iron junction boxes
and with cast-iron shoes to the raking struts.
In the 1850s the rear portion housed 2 corn-drying kilns.
Forms a group with listed warehouse and wharf buildings in
Shad Thames (qqv).
