Mausoleum. c1900. To Laura Stearns, d.1900. Doulton's
terracotta. Romanesque arched doorway set below crowstep
gable; side walls with arcade of 3 Romanesque openings below
an embattled parapet pierced with arched openings carried on
squat colonnettes, above projecting water spouts. Lower parts
of walls are battered outwards. Shelves for coffins (long
removed) in interior.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Mrs Laura Stearns of Twickenham died in 1900.
Her remains were buried elsewhere in the cemetery in 1931. The
only mausoleum in Nunhead Cemetery.
