II
Squatters cottage and attached cowshed. Early C19. Dhustone with plain tile roof and stone left gable projecting stack. Two storeys. A two-light casement on both floors with entrance on ground floor. Wing to rear. The large stepped stone stack is typical of a squatters cottage and beyond is the integral single-storey cowshed with two doors and a corrugated sheet roof. INTERIOR of cottage reported as retaining the original plan form, a narrow stairway and C20 fireplace inserted into probably original space.
A little-altered and rare survival of such a cottage in the squatters hamlet of Doddington, close to the mining and quarrying centre of Clee Hill.
