Farmhouse, now house. Probably early to mid C18; altered, and
recently renovated. Roughly-coursed mixed rubble with quoins,
white-washed except on the east side; roof of stone slate in
the lower courses and slate in the upper courses. Asymmetric
T-plan formed by 2-unit main range on east-west axis facing
south, with shallow rear staircase outshut and rear wing
offset to east.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows, almost symmetrical.
The ground floor has a square-headed doorway in the centre
(now with C20 glazed door), a square 2-light casement to the
left with 6-pane glazing in each leaf and a C20 6-pane
casement to the right. The 1st floor has a 4-pane hornless
sash to the left and replacement 4-pane sashes in the centre
and to the right. Gable chimneys, that to the left corbelled
and square, both with stone-slate courses and cornices. The
left gable wall has 2 small 1-light windows at ground floor, a
2-light window at 1st floor with a chamfered wooden mullion,
and a stone pigeon-hole opening to the attic. The right-hand
gable wall, with a stone-slate course over the ground floor,
has a doorway near the front corner (probably inserted) and a
square window near the rear corner, 2 small square windows at
1st floor (all these with recent joinery) and 2 similar but
smaller windows to the attic. Rear: main range has staircase
outshut with offset stair windows on 3 levels; wing has small
1-light window next to junction, one rectangular window on
each floor, one window at ground floor of rear gable, and
gable chimney.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but former list description mentions
stone spiral stair, moulded stone fireplace hood, and
panelling.
