Bank barn. Probably later C17 or early C18; enlarged in C19.
Slobbered rubble with quoins, stone slate roof. T-plan formed
by 5-bay main range built parallel to slope, on north-south
axis with 1-bay extension at north end, and gabled wing to
west side.
2 storeys, with shippon under hay barn. The east side, with
slit breathers, has a porch to the 2nd bay, with monopitched
roof, protecting a wagon doorway with harr-hung doors; a
vertical joint to the extension at the north end, and a
loading doorway each side of this. The north gable wall (of
the extension) has one low window to the shippon. On the west
side a short 2-storey wing to the 3rd and 4th bays has a
doorway in its north side and a loading doorway in the gable.
Left of this is a low shippon doorway, and a larger shippon
doorway to the extension, with a small window next to it.
INTERIOR: the hay barn has 4 collar trusses carrying 2 pairs
or purlins (including at least one re-used cruck blade); the
shippon has lateral standings for 6 cattle. Forms a group with
Rash House (qv).
