BORASTON

SO66NW Rose Cottage

GV II

Farmhouse now house. Early C17 with C19 extension and C20
alterations. Painted timber frame with painted rendered and
painted brick infill panels, and painted brick. Plain-tile
hipped and gabled roofs. Central brick ridge stack. L-shaped
plan of timber-framed range with later cross wing.
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic. North front with
square-panelled timber framing with 3 restored multi-pane
casements. Central C20 flat-roofed dormer over boarded door
with tiled lean-to canopy, dormer and canopy with tiled
cheeks.
East side: square-panelled timber framing to right. Multi-pane
casement to left in brick extension wing, with central C20
flat-roofed dormer and lean-to tiled canopy as for north front
but covering both C20 door and adjacent casement.
West gable end: painted render to first floor with brick below
and weatherboarded gable truss.
Arms of the L-shaped plan infilled with gabled timber frame
with fully-glazed infill panels.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
