Former coach house, now surgery. Late C18. Local stone squared
or random rubble, with brick and ashlar dressings, clay
pantiled roof with stepped coped west gable, hipped at east
end. At right angles to the street.
EXTERIOR: single storey, random fenestration. Roadside gable
has former coach gateway with brick jambs, segmental arched
head with keystone, now blocked with 3-light casement window
set in, but incorporating jamb- stones with remains of former
hinges. Above is a 12-pane casement pivot window under a
timber lintel. South side flank has a blind segmental arch at
west end, then 3 doors, one a 6-panel, above the centre door a
round window, possibly having a cast-iron casement, and to the
right a 16-pane sash. The left-hand side has C20 casements,
and a C20 door under pent roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: extending from SW corner of building a
high wall in stone rubble with coping, pierced by a gateway
having a segmental brick arch with keystone, and a C20 door,
adding to the street scene at this point.
The property originally associated with No.14 (qv), much
modified, but retains important group value.
