ATHERSTONE ON STOUR

House. C17 with later additions to ends. Timber-frame with
painted brick or rendered infill on rubble plinth; thatched
roofs with brick stack to rear of ridge and end stacks. 2-unit
plan plus single-unit additions to each end. 2-storey centre;
additions single-storey plus attic.
EXTERIOR: 3-window range. Entrance to left of centre has
4-flush-panel door behind C20 open porch with hipped thatch
roof. Central leaded light in probably blocked entrance
flanked by canted oriels with leaded glazing; small window to
left wing has small-paned glazing; two 1st floor windows have
3-light pegged and leaded casements with some crown glass;
raking dormer to left wing has C20 three-light small-paned
casement.
Left return has external stack and lean-to brick outshut;
right return with C20 narrow external stack. Rear addition
with tile roof.
