Pair of houses. c1860. Possibly by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
For Sir John Mordaunt. Brick with blue brick bands; hipped
tile roof with fishscale bands, some enriched cresting tiles
and large brick cross-axial stack with cap.
EXTERIOR: single storey plus attic; 2-window range with taller
wing to each return. Roof swept out over verandah to 3 sides
of front range, with turned posts with brackets. 2 bay windows
with 1:3:1-light transomed casements, probably renewed; 2
gabled roof dormers with 3-light casements, timber-framed
gables with cusped barge-boards. Each return wing has top
cogged brick cornice; entrance to front has cambered head to
plank doors; return has paired windows to each floor, those to
first floor in raking dormer to steeply hipped gable.
