GV II

3 houses, now houses and flats and attached railings. Numbered
right to left, described left to right. c1820-1830 with later
additions and alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with painted
stucco front facades and Welsh slate roof with cast-iron
railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 4 first-floor windows with
2-storey, 2 first-floor window range to right. Dwelling to
right is shorter. First floor: four 8/8 sashes with horns and
with sills; two 6/6 sashes with sills and in tooled
architraves. Second floor: four 8/8 sashes with horns and with
sills. All windows in plain reveals. Ground floor: end
entrances, 5- and 6-panel doors with overlights with
glazing-bars in panelled reveals, within architraves with
tooled pilaster strips, frieze and cornice. Ground-floor
windows: 8/8 sashes, those 2 to left with horns in plain
reveals and with sills, that to right has tooled architrave.
Basement has casement windows. Cornice, blocking course to
right, central and end stacks with cornices.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: area railings have spear-head finials.
Forms an architectural group with Nos 2, 4 and 6 and Nos 5, 7,
9, 11 and 13 George Street (qv).
