Terrace of 4 houses, now flats and attached railings to 2
centre houses. c1818-1828, with later additions and
alterations including outshuts to rear. Pinkish-brown brick in
stretcher bond with painted stucco to front facade.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basements, 8 first-floor windows
arranged 2:2:2:2. First floor: moulded band interrupted by
windows surmounted by Doric pilasters to ends and between each
house through first and second floors. 8-pane French windows
with margin lights in plain reveals. Second floor: two 3/6
sashes, otherwise 4/8 sashes in plain reveals with sills.
Cornice. Ground floor: 7 and 8 steps to entrances to left,
right and left, part-glazed and 3-panel doors in fielded-panel
reveals with overlights. 6/6 sash and 8/8 sashes in plain
reveals with sills. Basements: part-glazed double doors and
4/8 sashes. End stacks to Nos 45 and 47.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Nos 47 and 49 have lancet railings to
sides of steps.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Brunswick Street marked out by 1818 and built
along by 1828.
