Headstone to Martha Gunn. c1815. Stone. 3m from the south-east
corner of the church. Coffin shaped bodystone and footstone.
Martha Gunn was the most famous of the Brighton 'dippers',
women who were employed to plunge women bathers into the sea
in the second half of the C18 and first half of the C19; she
was active from c1750 to 1814.
