GV II

Stables. Early C19. Pebble in pitch with brick dressings.
Shallow pitched roofs of tile, the ridge parallel to the long
axis of each. U-shaped plan.
2 storeys. Scattered fenestration. Elevation to No.29 along
Bristol Road has later shopfront. Elevation to courtyard of
No.29 has the following features: 4 camber-arched entrances
from courtyard, one round-arched window; the rest of the
windows are camber arched; some blocked. The middle range, to
the south of the courtyard, partly obscured by later
additions. The eastern range mostly obscured by outbuilding of
later date and of no distinction; this range shows the same
variety of openings as that to the west.
Included as a very rare surviving example of an early C19
livery stables building; group value.
