Church. 1883-5, by JW Connon of Leeds. Rock-faced yellow
sandstone with red sandstone dressings, slate roofs with red
ridge tiles.
STYLE: Gothic.
PLAN: nave with north-west tower, south-west porch, coupled
north and south transepts, polygonal apse.
EXTERIOR: tower of narrow proportions, with angle buttresses,
polygonal vice to half height, slightly set-back belfry stage
with coupled 2-light windows which have bar tracery and stone
louvres, corbel table and embattled parapet.
West gable of nave has coupled 2-centred arched windows with
Geometric tracery.
2-storey gabled porch has 2-centred arched doorway chamfered
in 2 orders, and a 2-light mullioned window above.
North and south walls of nave have windows of 3 trefoil
lights; coupled gables of transepts have tall plate-traceried
3-light windows.
