Verandah attached to shop fronts. 1901, by T Hodge. Cast-iron
and glass. 9-bay colonnade (extended one bay beyond the
building to which it is attached, with a one-bay return).
Cast-iron columns with splayed pedestals, plain shafts, large
circular crocketed caps, enriched stilts and scrolled foliated
brackets continuous with open-work frieze (that in the fifth
bay incorporating the words: TOWER BUILDINGS), and moulded
gutter with cresting (part missing from sixth bay).
Part of the series of verandahs which characterizes this
street and forming its north end. Nos 657-671 not included.
