Monument to Sir Leslie Stephen, d.1904. Stone headstone with
relief of lilies and leaves. One of a pair: the other
commemorates his step-daughter Stella Hills, d.1897.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Stephen was the founder of the Dictionary of
National Biography, a literary critic and philosopher, he was
the father of Virginia Woolf.
