House, now offices. Late C17 with C20 facade and internal
alterations. Brown brick with rendered ground floor; slate
mansard roof with flat-roofed dormers.
4 storeys and attic, now reading as a 2-bay house with No.175
(not included), with symmetrical ground-floor office entrance;
No.177 formerly 1 bay only. Sash windows with glazing bars to
upper storeys with almost flat gauged-brick arches.
INTERIOR: ground floor mostly re-ordered but original
staircase survives in situ, set in middle of house between
front and rear rooms. Closed string, square newels, spiral
turned balusters on vases; replaced rail. No panelled rooms
survive.
