House, extended with converted barns. Late C16/Early C17 house with C20 alterations
and infillings linking to barns. Timber framed,on brick plinth with colourwashed
brick infilling, colourwashed brick to left of centre, colourwashed plaster infill
to framed barn to left. Front range timber framed on brick plinth with weather-
board cladding. C20 plain tiled roofs with old Horsham slabs to eaves and half-
way up to right; Horsham slab roof with gablets at right angles to centre. The
original farmhouse has been enlarged and joined to the former farm buildings on
the west so the whole forms 3 sides of a courtyard, open on the south (to the
right), the west wing being much shorter than the east wing which has the farm-
house to its southern end. Two storeys, with C17 multiple stack on ridge to
right under corbelled top, smaller, square, C20 stacks to left of centre. Three
framed bays to right with two leaded first floor windows, one window to centre
and one through-eaves dormer to left. Two windows to ground floor outer bays.
Hipped break to left, (now to centre) with three first floor and two ground floor
windows. Door to right of ground floor. Link range to left with one 4-light and
one through-eaves dormer window on the first floor. Two windows on the ground
floor. 5 bay barn to left at right angles forming northern range. Large leaded
mullioned and transomed window in centre bay and further window to ground floor
left. Ribbed door to right. Barn forming west wing, at right angles, not of
special interest. Rear:- long elevation with roofs of varying heights. Irregular
leaded casement fenestration. Arched bracing and jowled posts to cross roofed
range.
