Public House

GV II

House, now public house. C17, extended in C19 and C20. Timber framed, clad in
whitewashed brick with whitewashed render to right under plain tiled roofs. Two
storeys to centre and right, 3 storeys to left. Central range with gabled end
cross wings, stack to rear centre under corbelled top, further stacks to right
hand return front. One 2-light attic window to left, one 3-light window on each
floor below of left hand gable end. All windows under hipped tiled hoods on
brackets. Two diamond-pane leaded casement windows to first floor centre, two
windows below. One 5-light C19 casement window on each floor of right hand
gable, both under hipped tiled hoods on brackets. Half-glazed door to left of
centre under gabled C19 porch which extends to right to form another gable over
the ground floor windows. Pentice to ground floor right.
Included for group value as part of group around the church.
