House. C17. Timber framed with colourwashed render and thatched roof. 1 1/2
cells of a 3-cell baffle-entry house which has been partially demolished.
Two storeys with attic. Entrance front: C20 projecting wing at left and at
right of this is close-studded walling with colourwashed infill and to the
ground floor a projecting oriel window of 4 lights with ovolo-moulded
mullions and transom. To left of this a 3-light ovolo-moulded mullioned
window. To the first floor is render covering the close studding set with
a similar arrangement of 4-light window without a transom. Three-light
window to left of this. Further 2-light window at left with diamond-
section mullions. Right hand gable end: C20 ground, first and attic floor
windows, all of 4 lights with ovolo-moulded mullions and a transom. Rear:
to ground floor at left a renewed C20 window with ovolo-moulded mullions
and a transom and to right a renewed C20 three-light window with moulded
mullions. The first floor has a 4-light ovolo-moulded mullioned window at
left and a 3-light window at right with diamond-section mullions. Left
hand gable end. Lean-to outshut to ground floor level and two C20 cross
windows to the first floor.
Interior: Close studding to the walls, original sill beam. Central
chamfered axial ceiling beam with stepped lamb's tongue end stops.
Similarly end-stopped joists. Massive chimney bressumer. Winder staircase
rising from the lobby. Close studding and reverse-bracing to the first
floor.
