House, mid-C16 with early C17 extension; early C19 remodelling. 2 storeys and
attic. C17 parlour cross-wing forms T-plan. Timber-framed, plaintile-hung.
Plaintile roof with axial C17 chimneys, main range chimney has C19 diagonally-
set square flues on square C17 base; parlour wing chimney similar but with
octagonal base. Early C19 casements and sash windows with small panes; lean-to
open plaintiled entrance porch with C20 glazed door. Cross-wing jettied at
first and second floor on west side with ogee-moulded fascia-bressummers on
knee-braces. C16 main range has heavy but unmoulded timber-framing, probably
with cross-passage entry at north end; 2 storeys; roof rebuilt using rafters,
some sooted, from a mediaeval coupled-rafter roof. Parlour-wing C.1600 on 2
storeys with attics; ovolo-moulded bridging joists and wind braced clasped-
purlin roof.
