House, early C16 core, extended late C16, late C17 and early C19. 2 storeys, 9
windows. Timber-framed, encased C19 in red brick at front with central 5-
window set-back; rendered with some C18 pargetting in panels at rear. Slated
roof at front, partially plaintiled at rear; A late C16 chimney at rear of
front range has elongated hexagonal flues. Sash windows with flat arches and
hood-moulds in red brick above; small panes and arched glazing bars at head.
Entrance door off-centre; 6 fielded panels, Roman Doric columns, entablature
with triangular pediment. Central early C16 core has fragment of jettied
cross-wing on knee-braces, unglazed mullioned window and fragment of coupled-
rafter roof. Late C16 extension at north end has clasped purlin roof with
wind-bracing; close studded walls tension-braced. Late C17 triple-gabled rear
timber-framed extension and major internal alterations. Some fragmentary C18
panelling and other internal features. Front elevation remodelled early C19,
rear wing at south end added. Internal alterations mid C20, converting house
to flats. Moated site with late C16 or early C17 red brick wall to north and
gazebo at the north corner, now ruinous, with stone mullioned window.
