Small town house, now forming part of office with No.2 (qv).
Mid C18 altered. Flemish bond brown brick with grey slate roof
ridge parallel with front.
Semi-basement and 2 storeys; double fronted. 2 replaced 6-pane
casements to semi-basement. 9 stone steps with simple iron
railings on half-arch of brick to stone landing before
entrance with door of 6 fielded panels in good panelled case
with quasi-Ionic fluted pilasters, architrave, pulvinated
frieze and modillion cornice; pediment with cockle-shell
between 2 winged putti-heads on tympanum. 2-course floor-band;
two 12-pane flush sashes. 3-course second storey floorband;
two 12-pane flush sashes. All sashes have gauged brick heads;
no sills. Brick parapet with simple stone coping.
The west end has a replaced 6-pane casement to the basement
and a small inserted small-pane fixed light to the second
storey. The rear is altered.
