House. 1924. Constructed on the Duplex Sheath Construction System by the Duplex Sheath Construction Company of Moorgate. Light steel frame of I section members covered by 2 sheaths of steel lathing, one inside, the other outside. Cement render applied to both outer faces of lathing leaving cavity wall. Semi-circular roof frame of similar construction, using angle section members. Brick chimney stacks.
EXTERIOR: one storey and attic; 2-window range. Central half-glazed door in narrowly projecting porch with side lights with stained glass. One late C20 top-hung casement right and left. Projecting band at first floor carrying steelwork for floor. Semi-circular roof expressing raised curves of steel frame: bitumen covering. 2 dormers fitted with twin timber casements with glazing bars consisting of a narrow fixed element and a wider opening part.
External gable-end stacks north and south.
Rear (west) elevation with mid C20 plate-glass 3-light window to left, and a quadrant-section coal bunker of 1924 of same construction as house. Late C20 French doors to right leading into a late C20 conservatory. 3 attic windows, that to left original and as front casements; other 2 late C20.
INTERIOR: straight-flight staircase bifurcating at top landing. 2 panel doors throughout. Fire inserts and surrounds replaced (east room) or missing. Boxed rolled steel ceiling joists.
