Shop and accommodation. 1890. By John Douglas. For the first
Duke of Westminster, forming part of a single design with
No.115 Parker's Buildings (qv) and No.117 Foregate Street
(qv). Stone-dressed red Ruabon brick; red clay tile roof.
3 storeys, 3 windows. Shopfront has recessed double doors with
a colonnette-mullioned shop window to each side; panelled
side-pilasters; wrought-iron sign bracket dated 1890. The
first floor has 3 sashes of 6 panes above 2 panes in ornate
sandstone cases; similar sashes, but of 12 panes, to second
floor. Shaped gable with stone band, blue-brick diapers, stone
volutes, coping and 5 finials.
The right side forms west face of forecourt to Parker's
Buildings; high, flush sandstone plinth; a projecting lateral
chimney with shaped stack; miscellaneous stone-dressed
windows; 2-storey rear wing.
INTERIOR not inspected.
Bath Street, Grosvenor Park Road and Union Street have
adjacent groups of buildings designed by Douglas.
