Almshouses. Dated 1896. By John E Leak. Red brick, stone
dressings, slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. A row of 3 houses
with projecting parapeted ground floor, porches with short
stone columns in antis, glazed doors with overlights, 2-, 3-
and 2-light mullion and transom windows. Cross-windows with
gabled pediments over to 1st floor, moulded copings and ball
and vase finials. Banded stacks rear of ridge left, forward of
ridge centre, and right end. Left return: ground-floor 3-light
bay window, segmental pediment to plaque above with raised
lettering: 'ERECTED AND/ ENDOWED BY/ JOHN SCOTT ESQ/ 1896'.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
