GV II

House. Early C19 rebuilding of a C17 house. Red brick; hipped
plain tile roof; brick stacks. 3 storeys, reduced proportions to
second floor dentilled eaves; 3 bays, 16-pane glazing bar sashes
with wedge lintels grooved as voussoirs and raised keystones; central
door with rectangular overlight, cornice hood and moulded surround.
Interior: Moulded C17 ceiling beams, limestone fireplace surrounds,
one reeded, 2 others ovolo-moulded. Part of a picturesque grouping
of buildings including Marchington Hall (q.v.).
