GV II

House. Late C16 and later, restored C20. Timber frame, rendered and colour-
washed. Steeply pitched roof of single roll-clay tiles. Two storeys and
attics, lobby entrance plan. Fenestration generally C19 and C20 casements
with some restored diamond-mullion windows in west and east gables. Off-
centre axial stack, base rendered, top rebuilt C20. Drip shelves on west
gable. External stack on east gable. Catslide roof over lean-to on north
side. Interior: winding stair in lobby on south side of stack. Bridging
beam with ogee stops. Some C17 ledged doors. At the west end, a first floor
fireplace with elliptical brick arch, chamfered with barred stops. Jowled
principal posts, jointed at first floor level. Roof east of chimney stack
has three pairs of jowled queen posts with straight braces to plates.
