Well, well head gear and housing. Mid to late C19. Iron and timber
mechanism, brick lined circular well shaft supports open timber
housing. Square frame of 4 posts with paired cross timbers supporting
winding gear which is hand operated by an outer wheel with an iron
handle which turns lower axle with a small cog wheel which engages a
larger cog wheel on upper axle with a central iron plated timber wheel
over which lifting cable passes. Angled struts to gabled head with
machine pantiles. Raffin Green Farmhouse is not listable.
