Statue of a greyhound called King Death. 1872. Sandstone. c. 2 ft. 6 inches
high and 3 ft. long.
Dog seated on plain plinth with worn inscription which formerly read
"KING DEATH
Winner of the Waterloo Cup, Waterloo Plate etc.
Born 18th Feb. 1862. Died 16th Dec. 1872
Fleve et meminisse relictum est."
The statue was formerly in the garden of Waterloo House, Harbottle (q.v.) which
was renamed by the owner Dr. Richardson in honour of the dog's exploits.
