II
Pair of lodges, screen walls and gateway. 1794 for Count Horace St. Paul.
Rendered with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roof. Wrought-iron gates.
Lodges: L-plan. Single storey. Front block of each is 1 bay with rusticated
quoins and 12-pane sash window in raised surround. Hipped roof with small
square corniced stack. Boarded doors in later porches on returns. 2-bay rear
block in similar style.
Short rendered screen walls with flat coping and tall, large, square rusticated
gate piers with pyramidal caps.
Contemporary gates have ½ rail, ramped top rail and spearhead bars.
Later walling projecting away from lodges and later additions in angle of each
lodge, not of special interest.
