House. Dated 1807 for the Greenwich Hospital Commissioners. Rendered with
ashlar dressings and Scottish slate roof. 2 storeys. Main block 3 x 2 bays
with lower wings projecting to side and rear. Chamfered plinth and rusticated
quoins.

Main block has 10 steps up to 6-panelled door in open Tuscan porch. Sides of
porch given later C19 panels with margined glazing bars. Pedimented
projecting centre bay with rusticated quoins. 12-pane sash windows in raised
surrounds. Band above 1st floor. Moulded cornice. Datestone in pediment
GH either for George Hughes (1st tenant) or Greenwich Hospital.
1807

Narrow 1-bay later addition on left, in similar style. Hipped roof with 2
ridge stacks.

Rear has irregular fenestration including round-headed stair window with
intersecting glazing bars. Projecting rear wings connected by high stepped
castellated wall with central round-arched carriage entry.

Interior has broad staircase with stick balusters and wreathed handrail.
Fluted arch in entrance hall. Inlaid panelled dado in dining room. 6-panelled
doors and shutters.
