3 cottages. Part of planned village development of late C18 by Sir Edward
Swinburne who died in 1786. Dressed stone with graduated Lakeland slate roof.
Single storey, 10 bays. 3 boarded doors with semicircular relieving arches
over. Small Yorkshire sash windows and 3 large C20 windows. Band above windows.
Wood brackets support widely-overhanging eaves. Gabled roof with one ridge and
2 end stacks.
Interior: each room was built with a transverse, brick, segmental vault.
These are now all obscured by false ceilings.
