2/9 Lodge Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house. Early C18, possibly partly earlier. Limestone rubble with
ashlar dressings; old plain-tile roof with stone and brick stacks. L-plan. 2
storeys. Front has 6-panel door with flanking windows and first-floor windows to
right and above door. Openings have stone flat arches. Large projecting stone
chimney, to right end wall, has many weathered offsets and is probably earlier.
Hipped roof. Rear has outshut, with stone stack rising through catslide roof,
and a 2-storey wing. Interior not inspected. Formerly the Lodge of the Royal
Forest of Stowood. May incorporate parts of the building mentioned in 1640 and
1660.
