House. Late C16/early C17, partly rebuilt C18. Timber framing with colourwashed
herringbone brick infill; colourwashed clunch rubble; old plain-tile roof with
brick stacks. 2-unit plan extended to L-plan. 2 storeys and one storey plus
attics. Front has taller timber-framed range projecting, to left, as a cross
wing; lower rubble range has present entrance near junction, small windows,
including a horizontal-sliding sash, and 2 dormers. Small C20 extension to
right. Stacks to right gable of rubble range and ridge of cross wing. Wall
facing left has 2 leaded 3-light wood-mullion windows and a blocked central
stair window. Rear gable wall is rebuilt in brickwork. Interior: large open
fireplace; chamfered and stopped beams and joists in both ranges; curved
windbraces in cross wing. Rubble range has closely-spaced joists of unusually
large section.
