Farmhouse. Mid C18. Coursed limestone rubble, brick quoins and dressings; stone
slate roof; stacks of purple and red brick. L-plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range.
Timber lintel, brick jambs to 6-panelled (4 glazed) door; carved brackets to
hood with gabled stone slate roof. Gauged brick flat arches, brick jambs, to C20
three-light casements. Gabled roof; gable end stacks. 2 similar windows with
2-light casements and gabled roof dormer with C18 two-light casement to rear.
2-window range. One and a half storey wing to rear left of coursed limestone
rubble with C20 tile roof and lateral stack rebuilt in c.1970 has gauged brick
flat arch and brick jambs to C18 plank door with strap hinges; timber lintel,
brick jambs to C18 plank door with strap hinges; timber lintel, brick jambs to
C20 three-light casements, gabled roof dormers with C20 casements to left wall
and C18 two-light casement to right. Interior: C18 two-panelled and plank doors,
C19 four-panelled doors. Room to left has full set of plain beams and joists,
wood bressumer over open fireplace with brick jambs. Room to right has cased
beans, segmental arch over brick fireplace. Quarter-turn stairs opposite entry
to first floor which has C18 and C19 plank doors, original fireplace with
moulded mantleshelf and mid C19 grate to right and quarter-turn stairs to attic.
7-bay collar-truss roof with butt purlins. Wing to rear left has stone flag
floor and full set of plain beams and joists on ground floor and 2-bay
collar-truss roof (collar removed). Subsidiary fearures: Mid C18 one-storey, one
bay brewhouse attached to left gable wall has wood bressumer over original open
fireplace.
