Two houses. Early C17; late C17 bay to right; early C19 extension to rear.
Coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins; gabled stone slate roof; large C17
brick ridge stack with 4 diagonally-set flues to left range. 2-unit lobby-entry
plan, extended to L-plan in late C17. Two storeys; 2-window range includes
gabled end of left wing. Concrete lintels over late C18 six-panelled (2 glazed)
door with overlight, and over C20 casements; early C19 canted bay window with
C20 casements to right. Interior: stop-chamfered beam and chamfered joists in
room to left, and boxed beam in room to rear. Room to right has chamfered beam
and early C16 linenfold panels reset as C19 dado; late C17 winder stairs to
rear, with turned finial on chamfered newel post. Chamfered beams on first
floor. Early C17 common-rafter roof with butt purlins to left range: late C17
collar-trusses to right. No.21 attached to front left of C19 extension: early
C17, of limestone rubble with gabled concrete tile roof, brick end stack. 2
storeys. 2-window range includes blocked door, and timber lintels over C20 door
set in C17 ovolo-moulded wood architrave, C20 windows and late C19 first-floor
casement with glazing bars. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
