GV II
Farmhouse. Early C19 with C20 casements. Coursed rubble limestone with dressed
stone quoins and stone slate roof. Brick chimneys with chamfered corners and
off-set caps. Outshot plan with projecting wing to rear of right bay. 2 storeys
and attic, 3 bays. Large C20 3-light metal casements, retaining original flat
stone arches and keyblocks. 3 hipped eaves-line dormers with 2-light casements.
Between left bays is a flush-panelled door in gabled porch. Attached to right is
a later C19 2-storey bay, formerly a cottage, and a lofted outbuilding with
external stone steps to upper door. Single-storey outbuilding to far right with
C20 monopitch roof of corrugated iron, is not of special architectural interest.
Rear wing of original house, formerly a cheese room with loft over, retains
older windows and stop-chamfered ceiling beams. Interior of front wing has high
ceilings with plain beams, and altered fireplaces.
