The building may have been used briefly as a Sunday School, but is more likely to have been a summerhouse for the Darby family (of ironmasters fame). It has recently been converted to a self-contained cottage by the owner, who kindly showed me around the inside. Little remains of the original interior, it having mostly disintegrated beyond repair while the place was derelict and serving as a sheep shed.
