Farmhouse, latterly 2 cottages, now one house. C15, remodelled C17
with later additions and alterations. Timber framed of cruck construction
with painted brick infill on painted brick plinth; partly graded slate
roof. Original plan an open-hall house, probably of 3 cruck-framed
bays, with first floor and stack inserted in C17, converting it to 3-
unit baffle-entry type. Framing: large square and rectangular panels,
2 from cill to wall-plate with massive truncated true cruck trusses
exposed to gable ends. Timber framed gabled eaves dormers to left
and right, both with V-struts from collars. C20 casement and fixed-
light fenestration, 2 to left of C20 gabled porch (with inner glazed
door) immediately to left of centre and 3 to right. C20 glazed door
to right has casement to right. C20 casements also to dormers. Central
C19 cruciform red brick ridge stack with moulded capping. Interior.
Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (October 1986) but noted
as having true cruck truss (said to have Alcock apex-type B) to left
of right dormer. Formerly known as Nos. 1 and 2, Osbaston. Alcock
(1981), p. 144.
