Farmhouse, now house. Mid-C17 with early C19 additions. Timber framed
with red brick nogging, refaced or rebuilt, and extended in red brick;
plain tile roofs. Framing: square panels (4 up to C17 wall plate)
with short straight corner braces; eaves raised by one panel height
at a later date. L-plan; C17 range of 2 framed bays with early C19
addition to front (west). 2 storeys and 2 storeys and gable-lit attic.
Moulded stone eaves cornice and parapeted gable ends with stone coping
and moulded kneelers. Integral brick end stacks and large dressed
grey sandstone and brick ridge stack to rear wing with panels and dentil
brick cornice. 3 bays; glazing bar sashes (16-pane except for centre)
with painted stone cills and lintels. Central half-glazed door with
beaded flush-panelled reveals and soffit, reeded impost band, wreathed
radial fanlight and keystone; painted stone Doric porch with unfluted
columns and pilasters, triglyph frieze, cornice, and blocking course. Blocked
door in right-hand return front with inserted C20 metal casement.
Timber frame visible in gable end of rear wing including collar and
tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-struts. Early to mid-C20 additions
in angle at rear with probably re-set Salop fire insurance plate.
Interior not inspected.
