Detail of entrance to Sittingbourne Cemetery Lodge, May 2011.

This image shows the fine stone detailing of the lodge entrance, most especially the intricate ball ornaments and the alternate coloured ashlar blocks to the head. Also visible is the Pugin-inspired handrail, which has a matching foot scraper (not shown). Beyond the door is a vestibule separating the old burial boardroom (with large stone/polychrome brick and tile fireplace)from the rest of the Superintendant's house.
