Farmhouse. C17, remodelled in the mid-C18. Late C19 addition.
Red brick with timber framed core. Plain tile roof. C17 house of
2 or 3 framed bays, rebuilt and extended in the C18 in a Gothick style.
C19 wing at rear. One storey and 2 storeys with gable-lit attics.
Plinth, raised brick quoins and dentil brick eaves cornice. Integral
brick end stack to right and brick stack to rear wing. 3-window front.
First-floor 2-and 3-light wooden and wooden-framed metal casements.
Ground-floor segmental-headed- 2-light wooden casement to left and two
4-light wooden casements to right with Gothick arches over 2 centre
lights (blank to left). Boarded door between first and second windows
off-centre to right with pegged frame and gabled porch. Right-hand
gable end with segmental-headed 2-light attic casement and left-hand
gable end with segmental headed first-floor and attic 2-light wooden
casements. C19 rear wing with toothed-brick eaves cornice and integral
brick end stack. Interior: C17 core. Central room has pair of ovolo-
moulded ceiling beams with ogee stops. Left-hand cross wall with
square panelled timber framing. Front wall with section of bracket.
The right-hand (one storey and attic) part was probably added when the
house was remodelled in the C18. Formerly known as Unity Farm.
