Farmhouse, now house. C16 with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed, partly of cruck construction, with painted brick infill; machine
tile roofs. L-plan, with 2-bay former open-hall range to left, extended
late C18, and gabled cross-wing projecting to rear on right. One storey
and attic to hall range, 2 storeys to cross-wing. Framing: large square
and rectangular panels, 2 from cill to wall-plate, to hall range with
similar but lighter panels to C18 extension, which has 3 vertical struts
from tie beam to collar. Cross-wing has 3 square and rectangular panels
from cill to wall-plate with short straight tension braces; cambered
tie beams with straight braces and V-struts from collars. Late C20
latticed casements throughout, one to centre of hall range and one to
right with contemporary gabled eaves dormer directly above; cross-wing
has one window on each floor, also in panels of framing. Entrance through
late C20 lean-to porch at junction between hall range and cross-wing
has C16 or C17 nail-studded door reused. Prominent red brick stack
with one paired and rebated and one single shaft to right of hall range
behind ridge. Interior: inspection not possible at time of resurvey
(January 1986) but noted as having 2 true cruck trusses to former hall
